Welcome to SSCI

Security Skill Council of India (SSCI) is a company with a vision of becoming the pioneer and leader in the security qualification development and training space. SSCI aims to design and deliver training in the field of security and allied services with a view to equip learners for employment and career growth. The SSCI team includes experienced security professionals from India and from around the world.

Over the last decade, the Indian Private Security Industry has emerged as a sun rise sector and one of the largest employers in the country. With a projected growth rate of 20% - 22% over the next 10 years, the security industry is expected to throw open a wide variety of career opportunities for aspirants with multiple qualification and skill levels.

Recognizing the importance of this sector both as a key business segment and its role in security of the nation, the Government of India has recently enacted the “Private Security Agencies Regulation Act” (PSAR) 2005. Amongst other regulatory measures, this Act has made training mandatory for all individuals engaged in the private security industry. Keeping the employment generation potential and the urgent need to develop requisite skillsets, IGNOU & SSCI have collaborated to address the industry requirements of training and certification. The IGNOU-SSCI combine has undertaken the challenge to design, develop and deliver focused learning programmes in security. The primary objective of this partnership is to train and equip the young, educated and unemployed youth of rural and urban India with adequate knowledge and skills in order to perform security duties effectively. Thus equipped, candidates would have better placement opportunities and gain industry recognition.

SSCI now offers a wide range of security programmes designed to meet requirements of learners at all levels. These include a variety of short term programmes as well as certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate degree qualifications. All these programmes have been conceived with a view to address the industry’s skill requirements and the stipulations of the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, 2005. In order to reach learners in every corner of the country, we have already set up best in class training facilities across multiple states and extensive expansion plans are also in place to address the industry’s needs.

Alongwith our corporate office in New Delhi, we have 4 Residential Training Academies and 8 Non- Residential Training centers across the country

Support from the Government

The Government of India has also recognized SSCI as a lead body for skill development and employment creation in security services sector. We have already entered into MoUs with government bodies to offer training and employment to educated rural youth, especially persons below poverty line belonging to underprivileged sections of our society.
